State commission set up for inquiry into helicopter crash

Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to set up a state commission of inquiry into the catastrophe of the helicopter taken place three days ago in Kamchatka /the Russian Far East/. The commission will also handle matters of giving help to the families of the victims, the RIA Novosti correspondent quotes the Kremlin press service as saying.

Putin has appointed Sergei Shoigu, Emergency Situations Minister, as the chairman of the state commission.

The Mi-8 debris has been discovered from the air today 150 kilometers south of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski, centre of the Kamchatka region.

According to recent information, medics and rescuers have already arrived to the site.
