An explosion in southern Lebanon near the border with Israel injured five U.N. peacekeepers.
The private Lebanese Broadcasting Corp. said the bomb targeted a U.N. vehicle and wounded five Spanish peacekeepers from the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon, or UNIFIL. The TV station did not cite a source for its information.
But witnessed reporting hearing an explosion and seeing fire. It was not immediately clear if the explosion was from old ordinance left over from last summer's war between Israel and the militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon or if the troops were specifically targeted.
