About 100 pets left behind when settlers were evacuated from Gaza - including an iguana - have been rounded up by animal rights groups.
The statement said about 200 animals are still on the loose. The ones captured so far include dogs, cats, birds, turtles, a donkey and the iguana.
The pets are being taken to shelters. Volunteers are trying to match tag-wearing pets with their families, and an "adopt a pet" appeal has gone out for the others.
About 8,500 settlers were evacuated from 21 Gaza settlements as part of Israel's disengagement" plan, the AP reports.
