Skyguide traffic controller death not connected with Boden Lake air crash victims

Relatives of the victims of the air crash at Boden Sea have no connection with the murder of a Swiss Skyguide air traffic controller, according to the coordinator for the protection of the rights of the relatives of the victims and mother of a girl killed in the crash Yulia Fedotova.

She said that the proposition of the possible involvement of relatives in the tragic death of the air traffic controller yesterday, which was reported in the media, was 'unethical' and 'illegimate.' 'The relatives understand that one can't return the victims of the air crash and the death of the dispatcher would only harm negotiations with the governments of Germany and Switzerland,' said Fedotova.

She also said that the official publication of the causes behind the air crash was delayed once again until March 21. A session of the inter-departmental government commission for investigating the causes of the air crash was to meet in Moscow on March 1. And another meeting of victims relatives and members of the commission for compensation payment was set for March 9 in Zurich.

'We don't want to think that the death of the air traffic controller was connected with the investigation into the causes behind the crash, but it is possible that he became yet one more victim of the catastrophe,' said Fedotova.

Yesterday, in the Swiss town of Kloten near Zurich a member of the Swiss air traffic controller service Skyguide was killed in his home. He was a 36-year-old citizen of Denmark. The police say that one motive for the death could have been revenge by the relatives of the victims of the Boden Lake crash where 71 people were killed.
