Two people killed in airplane crash in south Russia

Two people were killed in a light-engine airplane crash in the Stavropol territory, south Russia, first deputy head of the Levokumsky district Vladimir Chuyev told RIA Novosti.

The R-1 Pegas airplane crashed the day before on the territory of the Zenit farm. The pilot and the passenger died.

The airplane belonged to the farmer and was bought to treat the fields with pesticides.

The plane's owner Vladimir Reznikov was returning with an aeroclub's instructor Nikolai Medunitsa from a practice flight, when the aircraft smashed in the land.

Investigation of the reasons for the crash has been launched.
