Palestinian prime minister: Israel's recent raid 'brutal crime'

Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia called an Israeli raid that killed five Palestinians in the West Bank as a "brutal crime."

The Israeli army said the five people killed in the late-night raid in Tulkarem were all militants, but residents said two of the dead were unarmed teenagers.

"The brutal crime in Tulkarem shows that Israel does not want calm," Qureia said outside his office.

Qureia also criticized Israel's new plans to confiscate land around the West Bank settlement of Maaleh Adumim for construction of its separation barrier.

"The picture is very dark and very dangerous," Qureia was quoted by the AP as saying. "With these actions there will be no room for a viable Palestinian state and no hope for peace."

A year after the constitutional referendum of December 4th, 2016 that saw the victory of the NAY and the blatant defeat of the government front that had proposed the referendum, it can be said with certainty that the trauma for the defeated is now past. But there is still fear in them, not so hidden either...
