In Chechnya a militant who was trying to plant a land mine has been destroyed. The headquarters of the United Group of Forces reports on Sunday that the saboteur was discovered by interior troopers during an engineering reconnaissance. He was planting a bomb on the road near the Samashki settlement. When the militant, who proved to be a resident of the Achkhoi-Martan district, attempted to escape the servicemen had to open fire to kill. A grenade and a remote-control panel were found on the site.
