The Ukrainian troops have apparently stormed the city of Donetsk with the use of military aviation. Planes and helicopters strike the territories near the Donetsk airport. Several rockets hit the factory building of Tochmash. Evacuations are being conducted in several areas of the city.
On May 25th, the authorities of the People's Republic of Donetsk introduced martial law in the region; on May 26th, the fighting between the army and the Ukrainian self-defense forces have moved from the suburbs into the city limits.
The Donetsk International Airport was the only object that remained under the control of the military, but the local militias attempted to reassign the airport to the new Donetsk authorities. As a result, the army used combat aviation on the positions of self-defense forces.
By evening time, the military action near the airport resumed. Aviation attacks the positions of the militias, the latter respond with retaliatory fire.
