Head of a regional police department killed in Chechnya

The head of a regional police department in Starye Atagi village lieutenant Ibragim Dzhabrailov has been killed in the Grozny district of Chechnya.

An armed group of people penetrated the policeman's house late at night and shot him dead from submachine guns, said the republic's Interior Ministry to RIA Novosti.

A total of 45 shells have been found at the accident site.

So far the criminals have not been identified.

Since the beginning of this year, the number of killed officers from the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya have exceeded 110 people, the Interior Ministry reports.
