American forces detained three men in high-level jobs and plotting kidnapping operations at Baghdad International Airport.
It said those arrested were plotting to kidnap Iraqi forces and civilians working with U.S. troops.
"The corrupt workers are suspected of having positioned themselves in several high-level jobs at the airport to establish a base and conduct kidnapping operations against Iraqi Security Forces and innocent civilians who stand up against the group's criminal activities," said the statement. "The men are further suspected of participating in attacks on Iraqi and Coalition Forces with improvised explosive devices and mortars."
The statement did not specify of which group the detained men were members.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a briefing in Beijing that the question about the shipment of S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems to Syria had not been resolved yet. However, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad said that S-300 missile systems had been delivered to Syria last month
