A U.S. Marine died when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in western Iraq, the U.S. command announced today.
A statement said the Marine assigned to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing was killed Saturday in a an explosion near Camp Taqaddum, 75 kilometers (45 miles) west of Baghdad. No other details were released.
The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of kin, the AP reports.
