Russian border guards have found a cache containing 49 kg of raw opium on the Tajik-Afghan border.
According to the press service of Russian border guards stationed in Tajikistan, the cache was found on June 27, on a section controlled by the Moscow border detachment.
Earlier in the week, on June 25, more than 21 kg of heroin was extracted from a cache discovered on the section controlled by the Panj border detachment.
In a separate development on Friday, two packs of heroin weighing a total of almost 2 kg were found in a Ural truck under one of the seats. The incident happened on the border section controlled by the Khorog border detachment.
In all over the past 6 months, Russian border guards stationed on the Tajik-Afghan border seized more than 1.2 tons of drug-containing substances, 95% of which were extracted from caches.
