Large ammunition cache discovered in Chechnya

A large ammunition cache was found in the village of Benoi-Vedeno, Chechnya's Nozhai-Yurt district in the course of an operation conducted by the federal forces, reported the Regional Operational Headquarters for coordinating the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.

The cache, which was found on the grounds of a derelict farm, contained more than 20,000 cartridges, several dozen grenades, and a large amount of explosives. The whole arsenal was blown up.

In the Vedeno district, the federal forces discovered a large cache full of weapons, ammunition and medical supplies.

In all over the past 24 hours, the federal forces seized 2 assault rifles, 2 pistols, 21,500 cartridges, 42 grenades, and 17 mines and landmines.
