Gas explosion at five-star Turkish hotel injures at least 10 tourists

A liquefied petroleum gas tank exploded at a five-star Mediterranean hotel on Thursday, injuring at least 10 tourists, private CNN-Turk television reported.

The explosion occurred at a hotel in the resort town of Belek near the city of Antalya, CNN-Turk said. Belek is a popular destination, especially for German, Israeli and Russian tourists.

Ambulances and firefighters rushed to the scene to evacuate the hotel, the television said.

The explosion came days after workers replaced a giant liquefied petroleum gas tank, the news channel said.
