Pogrom in Donetsk: Raging football fans injure 12

A mass fight involving football fans occurred in the south-east of Ukraine, this time in Donetsk. Football ultras attacked participants of the anti-fascist march, who opposed the glorification of SS officers from "Galicia" Division. During the procession, masked men appeared shouting nationalist slogans and started to throw rocks at the people. According to preliminary data, at least 12 individuals suffered injuries.

The march of nearly 2,000 supporters of Kiev Maidan began with a rally at the Olympic Stadium in Donetsk. After a series of provocations, the peace march turned into a real cleansing of the streets of Donetsk.

The radicals started to attack people, including passers-by, beating them with bats and clubs. The victims suffered head injuries and bone fractures.

The militia  of the People's Republic of Donetsk repulsed the attack. The militiamen - supporters of federalization - were patrolling the streets of Donetsk all night. Many people say that the clashes had been deliberately organized in advance to be held in Donetsk, which is now the center of resistance to the illegitimate Kiev authorities.
