To be discussed at meetings with Maskhadov are terms of disarmament of militants and bringing them back to peaceful life, the Russian president's aide Sergei Yastrzhembsky said at a Grozny press conference Monday. Yastrzhembsky insisted these contacts should not be called negotiations. Nobody is going to negotiate with Mashadov, he emphasized. There are no grounds to talks about withdrawal of Russian troops from Chechnya, said Yastrzhembsky. A defence ministry division and an interior ministry brigade are going to station in the republic for good. Today, Yastrzhembsky met with the head of Chechen administration Akhmad Kadyrov, with the latter presenting a detailed account of Chechnya developments, according to the press service of the Chechen administration.
