An Israeli aircraft attacked a car carrying Palestinian militants on Monday, wounding two members of Islamic Jihad and the Gaza commander of the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, Islamic Jihad said.
The group said another two militants in the vehicle escaped unscathed, one from Islamic Jihad and the other from Al Aqsa, a violent offshoot of President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah group. Medics said two civilian passers-by were injured in the raid, about 10 kilometers (six miles) south of Gaza City.
The Israeli military confirmed carrying out a strike but did not give details of the target, other than to say the attack was part of operations against "terrorist activity."
