Female Suicide Bomber Identity Known

GROZNY, 30 November. /From RIA Novosti/. In Urus Martan, 40km from the capital, law enforcement agencies have established the identity of the female suicide bomber who attacked the region's military commandant Gaidar Gajiyev yesterday. It was disclosed to RIA Novosti by a local internal affairs source that, the female was a local resident and widow of a former member of an armed group. According to the source her husband was killed during an operation in Dagestan. The informant refused to name the woman, stating it could harm the investigation in establishing identities of other participants of this terrorist act. In Urus Martan on Friday in connection with the suicide, a special operation will be carried out to inspect passports and search for weapons and militants. Additional restrictions will not be introduced, it was stated. A young woman, between 25-30 years, loaded with explosives approached the military commandant who together with his guards was heading for his office. She spoke to him and an explosion followed. Gaidar Gajiyev the region's military commandant was seriously injured. One member of the commandant's company was killed and two others were seriously injured. All have been hospitalised.
