An attempt on the life of the head of the administration of Grozny's Leninsky district was made by separatists in Chechnya. Chechen law enforcers reported on Friday that yesterday, at about 9 a.m. Moscow time, an unidentified explosive device went off at the intersection between Almaznaya and Kamskaya streets when a column of three cars was passing. The administrator was in one of the cars. As a result of the explosion one policeman was slightly contused. The head of the administration was not hit. The cars got slight damages. An investigation is underway. Two explosions were reported and two times separatists fired at federal positions from machine guns and grenade launchers in Chechnya. Two policemen were wounded in the shoot-outs.
