Two soldiers have been killed and at least five seriously injured in an attack by rebels on a convoy of vehicles in Chechnya. According to the Russian Interior Ministry's press office, the attack was carried out late last night. Federal troops, including soldiers and Interior Ministry forces, fought off and then pursued the rebels. However, in the dark several members of the Interior Ministry's forces were blown up by grenades that the rebels had laid out. The Chechen prosecutor's office is investigating the attack.
