According to him, a group of rebel Chechen fighters, or an illegal armed unit was spotted the day before to the south of Ulus-Kert, Shatoi District. "A missile strike was then carried on their camp," the source elaborated. The reconnaissance group which later scanned the site between the Sharo-Argun and Abazu-Gol rivers, discovered their demolished base with tents, sleeping-bags and munitions.

"It can be concluded from the inspection of the site that 15 rebel fighters have been destroyed by the raid," the source added.
