Chechen Government To Cooperate With Non-Government Organizations In Humanitarian Programs

An agreement on mutual understanding and cooperation in the field of humanitarian programs was signed between the Chechen government and non-government humanitarian organizations in Grozny on Wednesday. Over 20 representatives of international organizations affixed their signatures to the document, reported the press-service of the Chechen administration. A delegation lead by UN representative on humanitarian issues John McCalin, arrived in Grozny to sign the agreement. Under the document, the Chechen government undertakes to grant the staff of humanitarian missions free access to the population and ensure an unimpeded movement of humanitarian cargoes, designed for the needy, across Chechnya.
