A driver apparently fell asleep before his car plowed into a bus stop, killing two people and injuring four others.
The six were at the bus stop in South Los Angeles when the out-of-control vehicle struck them, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman D'Lisa Davies.
One woman, believed to be in her 20s, was killed, Davies said. She was selling flowers and gifts along with another woman, who was pinned by the car against a wrought iron fence until rescuers freed her. The woman was in critical condition at a nearby hospital and could lose her leg, Davies said.
A 20-year-old man suffered severe head wounds and died later at a hospital, she said.
Three other men, including a cousin of the man who died, were transported to a hospital. One was in critical condition and the other two sustained only minor injuries, authorities said.
Police Capt. Bill Sutton said the unnamed driver, a 21-year-old man, "apparently feel asleep after working all night." The driver also may have been speeding, Sutton said.
The condition of the driver was not immediately known.
Century Boulevard was shut down for a few blocks in either direction as investigators tried to determine the cause of the crash, Davies said.
Most EU countries are allied with US-dominated NATO - a killing machine involved in smashing one sovereign state after another. It's responsible for vast destruction, millions of casualties, and appalling human misery from the rape of Yugoslavia and post-9/11 US-led wars of aggression - based on Big Lies and deception.
