Roadside bomb kills a U.S. soldier in Baghdad

A roadside bomb killed a U.S. soldier on a foot patrol in Baghdad.

The Multi-National Division Baghdad soldier was killed Sunday in the southern part of the capital, according to a brief statement that provided no more details.

The soldier's identity was not released pending notification of relatives.

The death raised to at least 3,527 members of the U.S. military who have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
