Attempt Made to Blow up US Consulate in Istanbul - 3 April, 2003 - News

A loud explosion was heard from the US consulate in Istanbul early Thursday morning. As a Rosbalt correspondent was informed by the Turkish Interior Ministry, a bomb had been attached to one of the buildings located next to the US consulate. There were no casualties and no serious damage. However, police have not yet commented on the situation. Certain sources suggest the incident may be connected with the war in Iraq.
