Baghdad Subject to Severe Air Strikes Again

Explosions are again roaring in Baghdad, approximately in its western and south western parts. A correspondent of the Qatar television channel Al-Jazeera in a live report from the Iraqi capital points out that at the present time the city is being bombed from air and shelled from artillery guns. The Iraqi air defence systems are also working actively.

The sounds of explosions are heard now in the central part of the city, now in its outskirts.

The air strikes began approximately at 6:15 a.m., Moscow time. Half an hour later they stopped, but soon were resumed again. All through last night American and British planes were flying above Baghdad.
