American Troops Fire at Automobiles Carrying Arab Journalists

The U.S. troops fired near Baghdad at automobiles carrying correspondents of the Qatari Al-Jazeera TV channel and the satellite TV channel of Abu Dhabi.

In their statement made on this occasion, the TV channels condemned the fire attack on the journalists. According to them, the incident occurred on Monday when the correspondents were returning to the hotel after the press conference of Iraqi Information Minister Muhammed al-Sahhaf.

None of the journalists was hurt, the statement notes.

Furthermore, the TV channel of Abu Dhabi expressed condolences to its correspondent in Baghdad Shaker Hamid in connection with the death of his brother, nephew and niece in the city of El-Nassiriya in the south of Iraq.
