Iraq's Ambassador Claims No Iraqi Soldiers Involved in Incident with Russian Diplomats

"Iraqi soldiers were absent from the incident site involving Russia's diplomatic convoy, Iraq's Ambassador to Moscow Abbas Khalaf Kunfud said.

"Russia's Ambassador to Iraq Vladimir Titorenko was outspoken" about the incident, Abbas Khalaf Kunfud stressed at a press-conference in Moscow on Tuesday.

The Russian Ambassador told the press that the US troops had intentionally opened fire on the diplomatic convoy at the Syrian-Iraqi border.

"We have nothing to add," the Iraqi diplomat said. According to him, "Russia needs to draw conclusions from the incident."
