Afghan President: We Need Only Military And Technical Assistance

We need only military and technical, financial, and humanitarian, but not manpower assistance, President of the Islamic State of Afghanistan Barhanuddin Rabbani told journalists after his meeting with Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer in Dushanbe. Mr. Rabbani refuted reports in a number of media outlets that the official Afghanistan approached Turkey with requests to render military and technical assistance to the Northern Alliance, including 10,000 Turkish soldiers. Mr. Rabbani stressed that the only thing the lawful government of Afghanistan has asked from Turkey and the world community is military-technical and humanitarian assistance to the Northern Alliance.
