Northern Alliance Makes An Ultimatum To Taliban -- Surrender Kunduz Till November 22

The Northern Alliance made an ultimatum to the Taliban to lay down arms and surrender the city of Kunduz, the administrative centre of the Kunduz province on the border with Tajikistan, till November 22. RIA Novosti received this information from the military-diplomatic sources in the Tajik capital. According to them, this ultimatum was made by commander of Northern Alliance's units in the eastern direction Dawood Khan. The sources reported that on Tuesday general Dawood Khan held a meeting with an influential Taliban commander, Mullah Dadulla whose units have been blocked by the Northern Alliance in Kunduz. The negotiations have not been successful so far, the sources pointed out. General Dawood Khan declared that Kunduz will be seized by a storm when the timelimit of ultimatum expires. However, according to the sources, the Taliban, among whom there are many fanatics, foreign mercenaries -- Arabs, Pakistanis, Chechens, Uzbeks and Uigurs are ready to defend the city to the last cartridge Speaking about the situation in Kandahar, the military-political sources in the Tajik capital pointed out that according to some data available the forces of the Northern Alliance under the command of general Ismail Khan approached closely to the city. According to other data, the Taliban are preparing to surrender Kandahar. At the same time, the sources stressed, the spiritual leader of the Taliban movement, Mullah Omar declared that "Kandahar is not going to surrender". He also said that the Taliban will wage a long guerilla war.
