Ultimatum Issued To Taliban Forces In Kunduz

The Northern Alliance has forwarded an ultimatum to the Taliban forces, trapped in the Kunduz province near the border with Tajikistan. The ultimatum demands that the Taleban give up arms and surrender to the Northern Alliance on Friday morning. Otherwise, Northern Alliance troops will launch an all-out storm of the Taliban positions, the Afghan news agency Bakhtar said on Friday. According to the news agency, a number of the Taliban field commanders and their units have crossed the front line and given up resistance. However, the commanders of the 7,000-strong Kunduz group of the Taliban have not officially reacted to the ultimatum.
