Saddam Hussein Launches Partisan War

Saddam Hussein has called on every Iraqi to become a partisan. In a broadcast on Iraqi state television yesterday the Iraqi leader said that 'the Western aggressor can only be stopped if every stone and every bush fires at him.' Hussein added that a partisan war has in effect already begun, as 'even peasants have started shooting down enemy helicopters.'

According to Rosbalt's correspondent, rumours are circulating in Baghdad that members of the Iraqi president's personal guard have dressed in peasant clothes and are heading towards advanced units of the US-led coalition in order to carry out diversionary activities.
