Development of regional media a priority for Nizhny Novgorod government

This year, the exhibition was combined with the International Forum on Telecommunications, Information and Banking Technologies "TIBO-2013". The Nizhny Novgorod region stand took one of the central places at the exhibition.

Russia's Volga region and the Republic of Belarus have a long-standing experience of cooperation, not to mention close friendship. Nizhny Novgorod mass media take part in the exhibition on a regular basis.

This year, the Nizhny Novgorod delegation was represented by chief editors of Nizhny Novgorod News and regional newspapers Arzamasskaya Pravda, Buturlinsky Life, Lukoyanovskaya Pravda and Sosnovski Vestnik.

Also, the stand of Nizhny Novgorod media exposed regional newspapers, such as Nizhny Novgorod Pravda, Land of Nizhny Novgorod, New Business, Course N and district press of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

Representative of the Ministry for Information Technology, Communications and Media of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Oleg Sukhonin, held a presentation of regional media.

Mass media of the Nizhny Novgorod region include 689 outlets, including more than 500 publications, 150 electronic media and 14 news agencies. In addition, there are 478 editorial offices operating in the region. In their work, the offices embrace several regions at once or the entire territory of the Russian Federation and former Soviet republics. To crown it all, there are nearly, 1,500 journalists working in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region considers the development of regional media a priority; the authorities have developed unified state policy in the field of electronic and print media.

The exhibition in Belarus was designed, above all, to share experiences with colleagues from different countries.
