Internal Ministry worked out measures for employment of “difficult” teenagers

Today, June 1, is the International Day of Children’s Protection. State Duma deputies, members of the Federation Council – totally more than 200 people – came today to schools, to be present at parents’ sittings. Together with parents and teachers they discussed problems of education. According to the Internal Ministry statistics, since the beginning of this year, 287,000 homeless children were registered in Russia, 7.1 thousand of them were sent to the centres of temporary isolation for underage criminals, 8.1 thousand – to social rehabilitation centres, 10.8 thousand – to social orphanages, while the rest 200 thousand children were returned to their parents. Children looking for a better life leave their parents and boarding schools. Therefore, the street becomes the main authority for such children. This year, RIA ‘Novosti’ reports, the Internal Ministry together with other institutions worked out a complex of measures for employment of “difficult” teenagers for the period of school holidays. The children can spend this summer in holiday camps created by military units or based on military schools. Moreover, Moscow vice-mayor Valery Shantsev is concerned with TV influence made upon young souls. He proposed to limit showing of films about violation. In his interview to Mayak radio station, he said that this problem should be solved “on the state level and immediately.” While today, in Russia State Concert Hall, a beneficent concert for children from Moscow social centres will be carried out. Actors, singer participating in the concert will give presents to the children, while the children themselves also could participate in the concert. At least, solving the problem should be started with attention to every young individual.
