Additional security measures are being taken in Moscow, said Kirill Mazurin, official spokesman for the Moscow Main Department of the Interior.
Such a decision has been taken by the Moscow Interior Department on orders from the federal Interior Minister, Boris Gryzlov.
"The police will pay special attention to the city's life support facilities, places where many people are concentrated, other vital facilities, railway stations, children's establishments and hospitals," Mazurin said. Security will be tightened also in the residential sector of Moscow, at traffic control posts at the places of entry into the capital," he added.
Mazurin said also that the Moscow police command had requested the chiefs of private security services in Moscow to increase vigilance at the guarded facilities.
