Russian Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev arrived in Norway on Tuesday to discuss with his Norwegian counterpart measures taken against illegal fishing in the Barents Sea.
Gordeyev will meet with Norwegian Fisheries Minister Svein Ludvigsen and Agriculture Minister Lars Sponheim.
Officials said talks would center on cooperation in the fishing industry and the growing problem of illegal fishing in the Barents Sea off northern Norway and Russia.
Gordeyev's visit ends on Friday, the AP reports.
