Russia offers help to USA in connection with Katrina disaster

Russian Ministry of Defense is ready to offer help to the US government in eliminating the consequences of Katrina hurricane. This was reported today by the Russian minister Sergey Ivanov after talks with his colleague from Canada Bill Graham.

According to Ivanov in the first ours of the natural disaster Russian government offered help to the US from Ministries of Emergency and Defense. He said that Russian military department was ready to provide the US with heavy transport aircrafts of the Russian Air Force and generators.

Canadian Defense Minister reported that a Canadian port was preparing to send a ship with small-sized boats. He said that Canada would ready to help if the US needed adding that Canada’s position was to help and not to bother, reports RBC News.
