The Chechen government will be formed somewhere around June 15, said Ahmar Zavgaev, member of the Federation Council (the upper chamber of the federal parliament) from the Chechen republic.
The candidature of Anatoly Popov will be re-nominated for premiership, said Zavgayev.
New ministerial posts will also appear in the Chechen cabinet, said Zavgayev. One is the Ministry for the Nationalities Policy.
To Zavgayev, the decision of Ahmad Kadyrov, head of the Chechen administration, on the government resignation has been prompted by "many reproofs arriving to the address of the Chechen government that it is, allegedly, illegitimate power." When the State Council approves the new makeup of the cabinet, it will be a fully legitimate organ of power, said Senator Zavgayev.
He did not rule out that new cabinet appointments may happen. "Heads of districts of Chechnya will enter the State Council. They do know which of the ministers merits the post," Zavgayev stressed.
