Works to salvage Kursk's first compartment resumed

On Tuesday, weather conditions in the zone of the operation to salvage fragments of the Kursk's first compartment were favourable for the resumption of works. This information was disclosed by Chief of the Press Service of the Russian Northern Fleet Vladimir Navrotsky.

At present, sea floor is being examined by the RTM-500 small submarine vehicle in order to determine the location of fragments. The vehicle is controlled from aboard the Mikhail Rudnitsky vessel. The four-seat AS-36 rescue vehicle, which is also equipped with TV cameras, is ready to dive to the salvage site.

Weather conditions in the operation zone are favourable: there are force-two waves, eastern wind - 5-8 mps. According to the meteorological service of the Russian Northern Fleet, such weather will remain for several days.

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
