Russian company to showcase newly modified helicopters at exhibition on August 19-24

Helicopter maker Kamov will be exhibiting newly modified military and civilian helicopters at the MAX-2003 air show, which will take place outside of Moscow in Zhukovsk on August 19-24. The Kamov press service told Rosbalt that August 20 will be company day for Kamov. They will exhibit popular military helicopters KA-50 Black Shark, KA-52 Alligator, KA-60 Killer Whale and carrier-plane KA-27. In addition, Kamov will show the newly developed helicopter scout KA-31 , which has no analogue in the world. The KA-31 has the capability to discover from long range all air objects down to rockets. At the present time, the KA-31 is being produced for India on contract.

The modified helicopter KA-60U will also be exhibited. It is 60% filled by polymeric material which is more stable. The modifications will become standard on training helicopters in the army. Civilian aviation will be represented by the KA-62 , which can transport up to 14 passengers. The new civilian transport helicopter KA-226 is equipped with a self-contained transport cabin construction. As a passenger helicopter it can transport 8-9 passengers and as a transport helicopter it can handle up to 1.5 tonnes of freight.

The all-purpose KA-32 helicopter is the only helicopter that is certified for US standards of flying suitability. It has no equals in transporting bulky freight with a weight of up to 5 tonnes on outer suspension and is intended for emergency rescue operations, servicing oil and gas pipelines and construction work.
