Albanian Gang Targets David Beckham’s Family

A gang composed of Albanians and Romanians has been arrested after it was infiltrated by reporters from the British daily newspaper, News of the World, who claim that the gang specialised in art theft and planned to kidnap the wife and children of Manchester United’s David Beckham and would ask for a ransom of 8 million USD.

5 men have been charged with art theft, after a jewelled tiara was discovered in the car used by the gang but as yet no charges have been brought against them for the planned kidnapping. David Beckham’s wife, Victoria, formerly a Spice Girl, was told about the plan on Saturday while her husband David was playing for Manchester United. She described the discovery as “terrifying”, adding that “I am in absolute and total shock”.

David Beckham was told about the planned kidnapping after his game. He said he would step up security measures around the family home.
