US Forces Operating in Iraq

US special forces are already operating inside Iraq, carrying out reconnaissance activities, spying on the “enemy” before the main body of troops, which may be as large as 200,000 combined American and British troops, attacks in February.

The information comes from The Boston Globe, which backs up independent reports and Pravda.Ru contacts within Iraq which claim that US special forces and CIA operationals have been carrying out covert activities inside the country for several weeks. The Boston Globe claims that British and Australian forces have already joined the Americans although this information has not been substantiated by any other source.

Classically, such under-cover activities include the murder of enemy leaders and acts of vandalism, destroying infra-structures in a softening-up operation before the main strike. While there is no evidence that the US special forces are currently undertaking such activities, the notion remains that the possibility is far from being unreal.
