Venezuela will buy about 40 helicopters for military and civil purposes from Russia, Venezuelan Vice President Jose Rangel told reporters after a meeting of a commission formed by the Russian and Venezuelan governments. According to the Vice President, the first 10 helicopters will be supplied to Venezuela within two to three months. Rangel explained that the multi-purpose helicopters would be used for both guarding of the national borders and civil purposes, such as extinguishing of fires, transportation of patients and delivery of food.
