Falling trend continues on Russian market

A reduction in most blue chips continued on the Russian stock market today. The MICEX exchange opened with a fall in the majority of stocks a little below the previous closing levels, however, later this tendency intensified. YUKOS lost 3.46 percent as of 1 p.m. on a negative forecast issued by Moody's. RAO UES of Russia and Mosenergo dropped more than 2 percent, Surgutneftegas and Sibneft lost almost 3 percent.

The RTS stock exchange sees a fall in most blue chips as well. YUKOS was down almost 4 percent, and the RTS index fell 1.46 percent to 543.28 points.

In response to the unlawful December 1 arrest and detention of Chinese tech giant Huawei's chief financial officer Sabrina Meng Wanzhou by Canadian authorities in Vancouver at the behest of the Trump regime, facing possible unacceptable extradition to the US, Beijing warned its high-tech personnel last month against traveling to America unless it's essential.
