Session of conciliatory commission on NTV gave no result. Berezovsky supports the journalists
A session of the conciliatory commission on NTV ended fruitlessly on Friday, Gazprom official and member of the NTV board Alexander Kazakov has said. The NTV party led by Yevgeny Kiselyov "in fact presented an ultimatum, insisting that the process be continued in court," while the Gazprom party believes that this should not be done while "the opportunities of conciliatory procedures are not completely exhausted," Interfax cites Kazakov as saying. The work of the conciliatory commission will not be continued any further, Kazakov said. Meanwhile, NTV obtained a supporter in the person of media tycoon Boris Berezovsky, chief shareholder of TV-6, who sent a letter to the NTV team and NTV General Director Yevgeny Kiselyov in which he says on behalf of the TV-6 shareholders who hold the channel's controlling package of shares that he is ready to "immediately start fulfilling all the necessary procedures" to enable them to broadcast on TV-6, Igor Shabdurasulov, chairman of the TV-6 board of directors, told a Friday news conference at Interfax. In his letter Berezovsky "states that he openly supports NTV, and not only in words," Shabdurasulov said.
