Mikhail Khodorkovsky denies writing crisis of liberalism article

Former Yukos chief Mikhail Khodorkovsky has denied writing the Crisis of Liberalism in Russia article which was published in the March 29 issue of the newspaperVedomosti with his signature. The television news program Vesti reported that Deputy Justice Minister Yuri Kalinin said an investigation shows that Khodorkovsky did not write the article and, furthermore, did not give the article to his lawyers for publication. At the same time, Kalinin said Khodorkovsky was in complete agreement with what was written in the article. Kalinin also said the investigation into the source of the article would continue. Under law all notes by inmates must be examined by a jail censor.
