KamAZ Plans to Start Tractor Production

The KamAZ company plans to begin to make tractors. The respective decision was made at a conference, presided over by Rustam Minnikhanov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, on May 3, 2003. Minnikhanov confirmed plans to buy the first 200 tractors made by KamAZ for the needs of Tatarstan, the KamAZ press service reported.

KamAZ is now continuing engineering and design work and is holding talks with the Agriculture Ministry of the Republic of Tatarstan on the possibility of starting tractor production with the use of the company's facilities.
