Chechen section of United Russia party came out for targeted character of counter-terrorist operation in Chechnya

The leadership of the Chechen regional section of the United Russia pro-government party has published a statement coming out for a target character of the counter-terrorist operation in Chechnya and against "large-scale tough" actions.

The official statement by the political council of the party stresses that the intensification of anti-terrorist activities must take the direction of stepping up intelligence work with a view to exposing the leaders of the militants and destroying them.

The political council of the Chechen regional section of the United Russia party also deems it necessary to adopt a constitution in Chechnya and to hold elections to the bodies of the executive and legislative branches of power of the republic.
