The Kalingrad controversy continues
The enclave in the northwest of Russia is moving further and further from the country. Negotiations between Russia and the European Union have not brought any results yet, only paperwork.
However, the process is underway, and it is likely spin of control soon. Germany printed a map of Russia without the Kaliningrad region.
The third issue of magazine Economic Partners Germany and Russia arrived to the administration of the Kaliningrad region from Germany, as usual. People looked through it and were horrified. The most western part of Russia could not be found anywhere on the map. It was simply not there.
Alexander Koretsky, the chairman of the regional committee for information and press, said that representatives of the company KLOTZ&PARTNER.KG , which published the magazine, addressed the regional administration. The company asked to prepare some articles about the Kaliningrad region. Koretsky said that those articles were published in the issue, yet, there was no region on the map. Was it a mistake or some sort of misunderstanding? Maybe the editors of the magazine had have knowledge of geography? Or was it a hint on the possible separation of the Russian enclave due to the expansion of the European Union?
Alexander Koretsky is a diplomat. There are a lot of legends about the pedantry of the Germans. I think that both mistake and misunderstanding are out of the question.
