A three-month rainfall precipitated in the region within one day, causing mudflows in the mountains, which killed 34 people and led to considerable destruction. The material damage is estimated at 1 billion roubles. The port of Novorossiisk on the Black Sea and its surroundings suffered most.
The reconstruction is being carried out in the Krasnodar territory. Energy and water supplies have already been resumed. Builders from Moscow and other cities are also involved in the reconstruction.
